On Sunday Hill Top was the venue for a qualifying round of the Victorian Four Ball Championships.  A large field from far and wide took to the course in the event which was played as a Stableford competition for men’s, women’s and mixed pairs. Hill Top players acquitted themselves very well to take most of the major prizes.  In the Men’s Section Glenn Newton and Tim Balfour won the Bushnell’s GPS watches with 46 points, ahead of Michael Downs and Colin Barlow 45 and Col Bashim and Shane Myers from Shepparton in third with 44 points.   In the Women’s section the winners were Megan Carr and Bobbette Wilkinson from Tocumwal claimed their watches with 45 points one point clear of Deb Reilley and Jan Coe 44 on countback from Renae Dickens and Lynne Mclean from Kyabram.  In the Mixed Section Bev and David Roberts returned the day’s equal best score of 46 points to win the Bushnell’s’ GPS watches ahead of playing companions Peter Baird and Mary Dewis 42 and Mike and Sharon Jeffers 41.   The winners now go onto to play in the finals at Cape Shank and Sorrento in two weeks’ time.    Well done to all who took part and to Hill Top for hosting the event.
