Shepp Pair take Ann Johnston Event
Posted on: 7 July
Ky Parkland was the host course for the annual Ann Johnston Ambrose Pairs Event on a nice clear winter’s day, Monday 7 July. The event is held in honour of Ann Johnston, probably the best golfer to come from the Goulburn Murray District, with, club, District, State, Interstate and International golfing record. It was further enhanced having Ann in attendance to help with presentations.

At the completion of the usual high standard lunch, thanks to the Parkland volunteers, GMGA President Bev Hutchins welcomed all in attendance, with a special welcome to Life Members Iris Hicks and Joy Kelly and former State Delegate Joan Hill. Bev added thanks to Kathy Bell, as chief organiser and all associated with the event, including the catering and course preparation teams at the Parkland Club. Bev outlined Ann Johnston’s achievements before handing over the GMGA Women’s Event Co-ordinator Di Wood to read the list of prize winners who received their prizes from Ann and who all spoke to thank the GMGA, Parkland and Ann herself.
Shepparton Golf Club Women played exceedingly well with sister combination Mandy Faram and Robyn Wallace winning with a net score of 52.75. Di Wood and Denise Whyte were runners up with 53.5
