Pennant winners happy

Posted on: 4 June

A fabulous day at Numurkah on Monday (2 June) to wind up our women’s winter pennant season.

Cobram-Barooga took out their second consecutive division one flag with a 4-1 victory over Tocumwal, with some very close matches going the victors’ way.

Shepparton won Division Two with a 3/2 win over Valley View with one match going extra holes. It can’t get much closer!!!    both division two and three flags 3-2, with both contests seeing one match going into extra holes.

In a very similar outcome Shepparton won Division Three with a 3/2 win over Rich River and again a match going extra holes for the decider.

There were great entries for our Flag Day stableford event which saw Numurkah’s Jeanette Adams winning division one with 40 points, and Beth Bull from Cobram-Barooga winning division two with 39 points.

Runners-up were Julie Daniel and Gayle Edwards, both with 39 points.

Balls went to the evergreen Edna Lloyd, also on 39 points, Jean Youl on 36, Heather Gunstone on 35 points, and Colleen Johns, Glenice Opray and Bev Hutchins, all on 33 points.

Bev also won a ball for being closest to the pin on the 18th hole, while Mooroopna’s Alison Bentley had the best shot to the seventh.

Thanks heaps to everyone at Numurkah for their help running this event.
