Shepparton White Win Virtual Pennant Final
Posted on: 30 November
After seven weeks of play at home virtual pennant the grand final was completed today when Mooroopna Two took on Shepparton White.
From Mooroopna the consistent pair of Sonya Hill and Kaye Faulkner led the team with 37 points but Jacinta Harrington and Marg Oldfield countered this with a cool 41 points. Another feather in the cap to Marg who has shone in the last two weeks of finals. Julie Evans and Di Madill with 40 points gained a win for Mooroopna against Jo Rathjen and Julie Harris 39. The next three Shepparton pairings really blitzed the course. Fiona Hand and Donna Trickey with 40 points were too good for the Mooroopna girls Alyson Bentley and Estelle Houlihan 36. Shepparton White then unleased their wow factor with Annie Pegg and Angela McLeod recording 46 points thank you very much, and this could not be matched by Mooroopna’s tough competitors of Lorraine Smith and Annette Gallagher 37. In the contest of the fifth pairs Shepparton’s Megan Carr sort help from partner and Club Champion Kim Morris to register 43 points to defeat Deb Greenwood and Sue Cornish on 37.
Hence the final tally of pair matches saw Shepparton White record a decisive 4/1 victory over Mooroopna Two.
Congratulations to the Shepparton White team and well done to Mooroopna Two for you great efforts during the season. This concludes the Play at Home Virtual Pennant — the great chance to play when Covid 19 gets in the way.
