Annual General Meeting and Life Membership to Peter Fraser

On Tuesday 17 November the Goulburn Murray Golf Association (GMGA) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Shepparton Golf Club. The normal business of District and financial reports took place and the total report can be found on our Web site under Resources and Support, Annual Report.

The election of Committee saw the existing office bearers returned plus the addition of Barry Scott to Vice President and Alex Radevski to the Committee.  To be specific the GMGA Committee is now by name and (home club)

As part of the AGM, which was extremely well attended by delegates from nearly all GMGA District Clubs, President David Roberts formalised the steps to award Peter Fraser with Life Membership of the Association.

Ross Campbell from Kialla Golf Club spoke about Mr Fraser’s years of service and achievements and highlighted that Peter served as President of the former Goulburn Valley District Golf Association for seventeen years.  Ross added some details of Peter’s achievements including the responsibilities of governance and management of the Association, representation of the GVDGA at Victorian Golf Association meetings and events; management and organisation of several successful Country Week and Junior Teams.  Ross concluded his summary of Peter’s great involvement in golf with stories of his help to clubs during natural disasters of flood and storms and his wealth of knowledge and history regarding all the clubs and various people in our district past and present.

GMGA President David Roberts, then had the honour of presenting Mr Fraser with his citation, Life Member Certificate and badge stating to Peter that the Life Membership is recognition of leadership, dedication and commitment. It also reveals the appreciation and respect of all the Clubs, north to south, east to west, throughout the Goulburn Murray District.
