{"id":3964,"date":"2025-12-02T14:20:47","date_gmt":"2025-12-02T03:20:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gmga.org.au\/cms\/?p=3964"},"modified":"2025-12-02T14:22:02","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T03:22:02","slug":"kyroopna-win-pennant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gmga.org.au\/cms\/2025\/12\/kyroopna-win-pennant\/","title":{"rendered":"KyRoopna win pennant"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The combined team of Kyabram Valley View\/Mooroopna (known to team members as KyRoopna) took out the GMGA&#8217;s women&#8217;s summer fourball pennant on Monday, December 1, with a 3-2 victory over reigning champion Cobram-Barooga 2.<br \/>Played on a beautifully presented Hill Top golf course, the result came down to the last match still out on the course, between Wendy Cox\/Diane Newman and Gai Mitchelson\/Jeanette Comer, with the combined team winning 3&amp;2.<br \/>Von Morris and Kay Cowan (KyR) got to their team off to a good start with a 3&amp;2 win over Helen Hall and Jill Sheedy (C-B) but then Marg Majernik and Veronica Irving (C-B) levelled the score with a 3&amp;2 win over Sue McIntyre and Helen Armstrong.<br \/>Deb Greenwood and Wanda Hacon got KyRoopna back in front with a 5&amp;4 victory over Jenny Gould and Jenny Hindson, but Terry Mentha and Beth Bull clawed their way back to level with a 2&amp;1 win over Helen Emery and Joan McAuliffe, leaving the final result to the last match.<br \/>It was fabulous to see the combined team do well, a terrific initiative by the 2 clubs to enter an extra team into the competition.
