{"id":3840,"date":"2025-07-07T17:06:42","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T07:06:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gmga.org.au\/cms\/?p=3840"},"modified":"2025-07-07T18:01:13","modified_gmt":"2025-07-07T08:01:13","slug":"shepp-pair-take-ann-johnson-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gmga.org.au\/cms\/2025\/07\/shepp-pair-take-ann-johnson-event\/","title":{"rendered":"Shepp Pair take Ann Johnston Event"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Ky Parkland was the host course for the annual Ann Johnston Ambrose Pairs Event on a nice clear winter\u2019s day, Monday 7 July.\u00a0\u00a0 The event is held in honour of Ann Johnston, probably the best golfer to come from the Goulburn Murray District, with, club, District, State, Interstate and International golfing record. \u00a0\u00a0It was further enhanced having Ann in attendance to help with presentations.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3843 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gmga.org.au\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/AJ-2025-Pres-360x480.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gmga.org.au\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/AJ-2025-Pres-360x480.jpg 360w, https:\/\/www.gmga.org.au\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/AJ-2025-Pres-rotated.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Ann Johnson speaks at the start of presentations.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>At the completion of the usual high standard lunch, thanks to the Parkland volunteers, GMGA President Bev Hutchins welcomed all in attendance, with a special welcome to Life Members Iris Hicks and Joy Kelly and former State Delegate Joan Hill. Bev added thanks to Kathy Bell, as chief organiser and all associated with the event, including the catering and course preparation teams at the Parkland Club.\u00a0\u00a0 Bev outlined Ann Johnston\u2019s achievements before handing over the GMGA Women\u2019s Event Co-ordinator Di Wood to read the list of prize winners who received their prizes from Ann and who all spoke to thank the GMGA, Parkland and Ann herself.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Shepparton Golf Club Women played exceedingly well with sister combination Mandy Faram and Robyn Wallace winning with a net score of 52.75.\u00a0 Di Wood and Denise Whyte were runners up with 53.5<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3846\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gmga.org.au\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/AJ-2025-winners-360x480.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gmga.org.au\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/AJ-2025-winners-360x480.jpg 360w, https:\/\/www.gmga.org.au\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/AJ-2025-winners-rotated.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3844\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gmga.org.au\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/AJ-2025-Second-360x480.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gmga.org.au\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/AJ-2025-Second-360x480.jpg 360w, https:\/\/www.gmga.org.au\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/AJ-2025-Second-rotated.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Winners left Mandy Faram, Ann J and Robyn Wallace\u00a0 \u00a0 Runners Up Denise Whyte, Ann J and Di Wood<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0and in third place the pair of Deb Ryan and Chris Crawford from Cobram-Barooga.
