Interclub Pennant Results

Posted on: 5 July

At what could be considered as the half way mark for most Divisions in the golf District Pennant season there are some very close positioning for ladder supremacy.

Division One has just commenced and wins recorded for Numurkah over Tocumwal and Shepparton over Mooroopna.

In the Women’s Division Shepparton Gold hold top spot with two wins. Tocumwal 2nd with one win, followed by Shepparton Navy and Cobram-Barooga.

Division Two who played at Hill Top on Sunday there were two unusual huge wins to Hill Top 5/0 over Shepparton Blue and Numurkah 5/0 over Shepparton Gold. Numurkah sit on top of the ladder having played three with two wins. Cobram-Barooga and Hill Top sit in second and third spots and play each other at Shepparton next week while Numurkah have the bye.

Division Three Shepparton scored a convincing 4/1 win over Valley View. Tocumwal defeated Hill Top 3/2 as did Numurkah to Mooroopna.  Tocumwal are ladder leaders with three wins from three starts and then Shepparton and Valley View with two wins each and drawn to play each other next Sunday which will impact the chase for finals.

Division Four is the closest of all the Divisions Mooroopna managed a 3/2 win over ladder leaders Hill Top. Kialla a huge 5/0 victory over Valley View (their second 5/0 victory for the season, but alas a 0/5 defeat also). Cobram-Barooga had a 3/2 win over Shepparton.  Hill Top hold top spot on percentage from Kialla, Cobram-Barooga and Mooroopna all with 2 wins.  The latter two teams to clash this Sunday.

Division Five teams contest was held at Hill Top where the home team gained a 3/2 win over Ky Parkland. Merrigum a 3/2 win over Mooroopna and Shepparton 3/2 over Nagambie.  On the ladder Shepparton are clear on top with 3 wins from 3 starts; next are Hill Top, Merrigum and Mooroopna all with two wins.  This Sunday with a 9am start at Mooroopna, will do a lot of sorting with Shepparton to play Merrigum and Hill Top to face Mooroopna.
