GMGA Summer 4BBB Final Results:

After four of the matches decided before the 18th, Joel Watson and Aaron Loader were going down the 18th a tRich River West Course, knowing they had to win to keep the match alive, and Rich River's fortunes. Aaron sunk a monster putt on the 18th to square the match, so down the first they went again, then the second, then the third, fourth, and onto the 5th or 23rd hole of the match. Aaron and Joel went on to win the hole, and clinch a 3&2 victory for Rich River Golf Club.

Rich River Division 1 Team, with David Roberts, President GMGA Inc on the far left.

In Division 2, Tallygaroopna and Kialla fought a see-sawing battle all day, and it wasn't until the final putt on the 18th, that Tally got up to win the Division 2 flag!

A Very Happy Tallygaroopna side.

The GMGA would like to thank all clubs and players who participated in the series this year, and it was great to see the young players getting a run in the various teams. We would also like to thank the clubs for the use of their courses and hospitality during the season, and Rich River Golf Club for hosting the finals.

All players commended the course preparation, a big thank you to the ground staff and Andrew Johnson Course Superintendent Rich River GC.

Summer Four Ball Pennant FINAL Results: By David roberts

The finals of the GMGA Division One and Two Summer Pennant competition was played in pleasant condition at Rich River last Sunday.

Division 1
Hill Top Tatura had to take on home team Rich River in what became an enthralling encounter. A big 6/5 win to McCoomb and Dixon set Rich River off to a great start. Tewhata and Scott got another one in for the home team 3/2. Cornelius and Hunter struck back for Hill Top 4/2 and Hill Top’s Risstrom and Miller carded a 3/2 win.  Two matches each.  Watson and Loader for Rich River and Hill Top’s Dryden and Roberts were all square after the eighteen holes.  The match had to be decided and it took another five holes before the steady young gun Aaron Loader was able to return a net par on the 23rd hole while the Roberts par putt lipped out.  Well done to Rich River.

Division 2.
The final was the same clash as the last round as Tallygaroopna took on Kialla. A similar scenario unfolded.  Campbell and Montgomery scored a 2/1 win for Tally, however, Farrell and Hutchins and Campbell and Pettie registers two good but close wins for Kialla. Then Brett and Larson gained a 3/2 win for Tally.  Two matches each.  Last pairing, eighteenth hole and Tally Captain Montgomery and Karl managed the win one up.  The win gave Tallygaroopna their fourth win in five years.

Congratulations to the teams in each division on making the finals.  Thanks to Rich River for hosting the event.  Well done to Rich River and Tallygaroopna, may the pennants fly high at your clubs.
